Over the next few weeks Junior School students will be participating in several literacy activities relating to Book Week. The theme for this year is Escape to Everywhere”.

On Monday 21st August , students in Prep to Year 5 will participate in literacy rotations from 9:00am-1:00pm. Class teachers will focus on a CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) Shortlisted or Notable book, and students will do literacy and craft activities related to that book.

On Wednesday 23rd August our Prep to Year 2 students will be walking to Kardinia Church in Sebastopol for a 45 minute literacy-themed presentation by one of our Year 2 teachers, Amelia Weir.

On Friday 25th August , to coincide with the theme Escape to Everywhere, Junior School students are asked to dress from a particular genre. Each class has been given their genre. These are:

  • Prep - Animals
  • Year 1 - Family
  • Year 2 - Historical Fiction
  • Year 3 - Australia
  • Year 4 - Mystery
  • Year 5- Adventures
On this day, a Book Week Parade will be held in the Multi-Purpose Centre at 9:00am . Parents and Carers are welcome to attend.

We look forward to these times of fun and learning.
