Over the term break BalCC Teaching and Administration staff attended the Christian Schools Australia one day conference and an internal training day as part of their Professional Development.
During the one day internal training day staff heard from Guest speaker, Major Andrew van Gaalen from Ballarat Community Church who spoke on the “Busyness of life” and speakers from Child Wise.
During the CSA conference BalCC staff along with 1200 delegates from 25 Christian schools across Victoria enjoyed a time of celebration and equipping for service.
The keynote speaker was Mark Bilton, who shared around the theme, “Culture and Call”. Mr Bilton spoke on how he has introduced cultural change around Biblical Principles in the corporate sector. He also ran a workshop for leaders around issues of culture.
Adrian Blenkinsop, previously of the Bible Society also spoke at the conference, along with a variety of other speakers in smaller group sessions. The Bible Society’s Envelop training has been trialled in schools in 2016, and will be available to Christian schools in 2017.
Brett Ryan, from Focus on the Family, offered practical workshops around issues relevant to raising young people and children.
Christian Schools Australia is an independent network of schools which fosters leadership, growth and excellence in Christian school education. Today it is Australia's largest association of non-systemic Christian Schools. Its membership includes 150 schools nationally, with around 55,000 students and 3,000 teaching staff.
