Kirsty Johnson

A love of Psychology at secondary school led Sylvia to choosing it as her major when she commenced undergraduate studies at La Trobe University, along with minor studies in Politics and History. She completed her teaching studies at the Australian Catholic University graduating a week before getting married. She commenced teaching in 2001 and has taught at Derrinallum College, Phoenix College, Woodmans Hill Secondary College and Mt Rowan Secondary College campuses, when they still known as Ballarat Secondary College.


In 2006 Sylvia started at BalCC teaching VCE Psychology and Biology and has since gone on to teach VCE Health and Human Development, Year 10 HASS, Year 9/10 Psychology/Sociology elective and VCE Sociology. She has worked as the VCE Coordinator for nine years and the VET Coordinator for the last few years.   She holds a Master of Applied Leadership in Positive Education from the University of New England.
