This week saw the Year 6 students travel to Canberra for a five day camp. The students stayed in athlete style accommodation at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and visited various sites around Canberra, underpinning learning in regards to Government and the law as looked at in their Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE) classes.

While visiting Parliament House the students were able to meet the Governor-General of Australia, Sir Peter Cosgrove.

The students are pictured here with Sir Peter Cosgrove at the same desk where Gough Whitlam’s government was dismissed by the signature of John Kerr.
