On Wednesday BalCC students celebrated Multi-Cultural Day.
Students dressed in a traditional national costume or in orange (“Traditionally, orange signifies social communication, meaningful conversations and encouragement of mutual respect.” harmony.gov.au)
There were activities running in each Primary classroom, with community and family members from many different nationalities visiting to give talks, play games and share aspects of their culture.
The BalCC Senate members organised lunchtime sports activities for students, and the Learning Enhancement Centre ran lunchtime craft activities.
Secondary students helped with the preparation and organisation of a Multi-Cultural style lunch from the Canteen. While the Year 8 Spanish elective students performed a dance for Primary students, and handed out Spanish themed colouring sheets they had designed.
It was wonderful to see students learning and sharing their various cultures.
