Commencing this year a Certificate
II in Applied Fashion Design & Technology will be running in our Trade
Training Centre. The course is open to
BalCC students and students from Ballarat and surrounding areas.
The BalCC Trade Training Centre was purpose built in 2013 with funding from the Australian government, and is the only TTC in the Ballarat district. The TTC is a light and bright space that features safety zones, dust extractors, and fantastic heating, and features an area that has been setup specifically for fashion design.
The Certificate II course is being run by The Gordon TAFE with Fashion teacher Tricia Peart delivering the two year course.
Students from Ballarat Christian College, Beaufort Secondary College and Ballarat & Clarendon College are currently enrolled in the course, which is co-ordinated through the Highlands LLEN Vet Cluster.
The course runs from 1:45-5:30pm every Thursday (during school terms) and no prior Textiles experience is required. Enrolments for the 2019 course will close off in the next few weeks and interested BalCC Year 10 and 11 applicants can contact BalCC VET Co-ordinator, Sylvia Loader.
