Year 12 student Yual recently placed first in High Jump at the Victorian Country Athletics Championships in Bendigo. The three day event was held at Latrobe University and saw competitors travel from all over Victoria.

Yual jumped 2.06 metres beating his personal best of 1.97 metres. He is now aiming for a goal of 2.20 metres and competing in the newly created National competitions with Athletics Victoria. To reach his goal Yual is training three times a week with the Ballarat YCW Harriers doing weights, running and bounding (jump exercises).

No doubt with his determination and focus Yual will be beating his own personal best in no time.
