This week the Year 8-12 students heard a presentation by a Drug Free Education Faciliator from Drug Free Lifestyles.
Drug Free Lifestyles is an auspicing organisation of the Women's Christian Temperance Union who visit schools around Australia educating students on drugs.
The interactive presentations involved experiments, medical models, video clips, discussions and role plays. Along with an age appropriate presentation of the topics of what is a drug, why do people take drugs and coping with peer pressure.
WCTU Drug Free Lifestyles is a worldwide women’s organisation that has been making a contribution to social reform in Victoria for over 125 years. Its main work is in drug education in schools and throughout the community. The emphasis in their drug education programs is on giving students quality information so that they can make informed and wise choices and develop strategies to help them cope with peer pressure.
