The Year 8 students recently attended a Robotic Solutions day at Ballarat Tech School.

Students had the opportunity to work collaboratively to:

• experience desktop automation using a desktop robotic arm

• construct a prototype automation system using Arduino based electronics to sort products

• create, change and edit code to test variables such as speed and direction

• develop a basic understanding of electronic inputs and outputs used

BTS programs are holistic in nature and based on the Department of Education Tech School Learning Program Design Framework fourteen key principles that focus on:

• Engaging and inspiring students in STEM

• Support teaching in schools and the classroom

• Link education and industry

• Remain flexible and suitable to local needs
